    Supremacy 1940

I know Supremacy 1942 was disregarded as an idea, but here's my idea that I worked on but I don't want to go to waste. It's a little more complicated, BUT is designed to keep new players interested in these "new" features.
Suggestion for "Goldmarks" in-game purchasing, yes propaganda is of course still there- but maybe to give your troops a boost- actual historical commanders or ships or units- LIKE- Montgomery, Rommel, Zukhov, the 101st, Nagumo, etc. Maybe for "extra units" you could have Katushas for Russia or a specific class of AirCraft carrier or tank (PZ Tiger?)
I just wanted to give my idea for a new game. You may already be planning this, or it has been suggested but:
    Supremacy 1940
Starting powers: Nazi Germany (strongest infantry in the game, strong tanks but expensive units, OK navy, great U-boats)
Fascist Italy (weak military, medium cost units)
Communist Russia (strongest economically, weak, cheap infantry, strongest tanks, good bunkers)
Great Britain (strong Navy, can use Malta as an air base)
France (weak land units, strong economy)
    Libya ("Allied" with Italy)
    Egypt ("Allied" with Great Britain)
    Morocco ("Allied" with France)
United States (Strong economy Strong navy, land units, weak Air Force)
Imperialist Japan (Strong economy, cheap, weak infantry, strong air, strong but easily destroyed navy, low on Oil)
    Philipenes (weak all around)
Australia (weak navy, strong infantry, no starting air force)
Norway (weak land units, good bunkers, OK navy, no air force, no tanks)
Territorial gains are not this time by province, although there still are provinces, but you simply move troops through territory to gain it. You will gain whatever % of that province's output you control. e.g.
move forces through 50% of an enemy province, you get 50% of the province's output. However, if you destroy all military units in the province, the entire territory is yours.
Here are choices for different scenarios.
    1) Full- every single (major) power is controlled, and you can engage in sea/air battle all around the globe. United States, Russia, Germany, are all tied for strongest, but not so stronger that they can kick everyone else's ass
    2) Europe only- players can control Russia, Norway, Germany, France, Great Britain, Finland or Italy Germany is the strongest start-up position
    3) Pacific- Can control Great Britain (via Singapore and India), Australia, United States West Coast, Japan (duh) Phillipenes, Japan is the strongest start-up position
    4) Eastern War- 2 player campaign between Germany and Russia, both are equal. Finland is also involved, but is very weak, but have good bunkers
    5) North Africa- Italy, Libya, Egypt, Morocco, some Frence army units some British army units, some German army units, and Britain at Malta.
Since these are colonies, it could go like this- the colonial powers have no troops of their own, but the owning powers have 9-15 troops in each provincial capital.

so much effort into this -

It aint gonna happen, Nazis have been outlawed in Germany I think and so such a game cannot be made

(if this is true however, how come Call of Duty games can be published in Germany - I assume they can be)

Yep they can't make a Third Reich game, or else the whole game would be banned.

I can't deny I would love to play more as WW2 era but that simply will not happen here.

the setting's never gonna happen, and all the other features would require a complete overhaul of the game engine. So you're proposing less of a new map and more of a new game.

They censor the flags like in WaW so you do not know if they are nazi's

i believe it's standard practice in video games released in America to replace the swastikas with stylized crosses and make up unit insignias rather than using historically accurate ones... plus always make the nazi's the bad guys who get shot to holy hell.

I would be fascinated to see at least a brief summary of the provisions of the German anti-Nazi legislation, something that I have been unable to find by searching the internet. I suspect that films and documentaries must benefit from some sort of exemption, otherwise it is hard to see how 'Downfall', 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', 'The World at War' or, indeed, many WW2 newsreels could be viewed or made available in Germany.

Over the past year we have had the (to my mind ridiculous) situation that posting certain images and comments on the forum will lead to deletion and/or disciplinary action on the grounds that it has breached German law. I have absolutely no problem with that. Where there is a problem is that no one (mods included) seems to know what that law is, and it seems strange to have forum rules that are not communicated to forum posters, as this will only lead to inadvertent breaches and create extra work for the mods.

i know it's wikipedia, but it seems fairly concise.

I'm fairly sure, that if this game was set to the second world war, it would not automatically make the German officials imprison the devs for the rest of their lives. The law, as far as I know, prohibits the idealization of national socialism, expressing your support to it. But, the problem would be that you wouldn't be allowed to play as Germany, since the mission of the game is to conquer Europe, no?

I don't know about the new rules, as I don't know where to look for them, but when we still had the old forums, the German law was shortened to a total ban of any symbols regarding national socialism (including Mr. Hitler), and when it was apparent that someone was glorifying it.

I doubt there is anything more you can get hammered for by the mods.
