I actually really like this version of the game, there's a lot to do and a lot of variables and aspects to make it cool. Kinda sad that one game I joined only has like, 5 people in it, but regardless it's still super fun and I can't wait to see how this game will grow and develop

Supremacy 1

with the game being on steam and app store it will definitely pick up eventually, just got to be patient with it I guess.

Hey ProfessorComs,
great to hear that you enjoy the game so far. Right now we are still in a test phase. This will change in the upcoming weeks though. -
could you tell me when the game will be released?
-
will the rankings be reset on release? or it be a bit unfair for te dudes who join the game at release and will acctually benefit ur compony as more players will compete and thus mor gm will be bought as well as high command ust saying ;0

THere is no release date, yet.

Don't think the ranking will be resetted as you can acomplish the current scores in a matter of days basically. There will always be a disadvantage for them who join the game after it went live.

I must say for now the game appeals to me. Not without doubts or criticism, though.
Despite some new stuff, the game mostly feels like a colorful, but still undressed S1914 or CoW; but maybe that is the intention? It feels like less of challenge and more
I miss many options, which were allowing for more personal influence, like switching on/off facilities to save on resource consumption, trading units (I desperately want to get rid om HTs in the Flanders map; I hate those slow units).
On the Great War map, there are geographical mistakes which annoy (like Maastricht being Belgian) and the huge waterways, separating land and moral influence by neighbors are somewhat overdone.
1st time I play that map, so let's see if the negative feelings about this go away.
-
I find the game very attractive to be honest.
Haven't played a real game (NWE, CoW, S1914) for some years now, but Supremacy 1 has brought me some joy back in the game. Played some maps now, and it's really fun.
I'm a big fan of the road systems, as it really ads a very nice additional challenge to the game. Some of the features of the recent updates i'm not a big fan of, but since Supremacy1 is a brand new game, they were never options here.
I do agree as a 'Nederlander' that Maastricht being part of Belgium is painfull to watch

I feel the same. I used to play a bunch of CoW back in the day, and NWE for a small bit when it had a few updates, but S1 has really got me back into the groove. I like how it has terrain stats (Like in NWE, that I've wanted for CoW), it's got a wide variety of units, although some I don't see as much of point in using, but I'm excited for the future of this

CoW has terrain influences on the units too

I do not play this game or know what setting bytro tries to create but if it's WWI then nope no Maastricht in Belgian hands if it's 1830 the entire province of Limburg except the fortress in Maastricht were Belgian. officially dutch limburg was 'given' to the dutch in 1839. But I always thought Supremacy1 is WWI and then you guys are 100% right

Great to hear! I pass on the Maastricht issue and we will see what we can do there. -

Thanks for the feedback _Pontus_ I shared your impressions with the team. If there is more you guys would like to share with us, we are always eager to hear from your game experiences and feedback.

CoW has terrain influences on the units too
It does, but I mean having more to it. I like the aspect of vision, I also wanted the diverse terrain to be in CoW especially, Jungle, Tundra, and Deserts since it would definitely made a lot more parts of the game more in-depth
-

Definitely! But... Bytro is not on a road of improvement of CoW. Rather it is removing features (mainly concerning player interaction) and changing features (like the most important HC feature to me: Agressive Stance = now practically useless).
And old issues persist for years which are just bloody irritating: i.e. jumping chat text, jumping addressees, bad position marking in crowded situations, position markers not shining through army flags/tags etc)
CoW is not getting any better I fear.
But was is really weird about all this:
- On one hand CoW is being dumbed down and features changed/removed. So, I am not renewing my 12 months HC, bc I severly doubt I will want to be as active as I used to be. I am just not very interested in dumb slaughter. That was the always the boring part at the end of a map w/o any human enemy left.
Especially now, having been put at a severe disadvantage vs map-mobbing coalitions from 1 ally (encountered that in 3 of my event maps) , because independent players can't trade anymore, I have become less interested in event maps. So, w/o events to play and becoming less active, I have no need for HC anymore.
- On the other hand, in S1 - being a tactical and logistical game (not the pure strategy as we know from CoW and old s1914), and it being a lot faster - I do not need HC in S1...
How is this a winning proposition for Bytro?
-
Another thing that is a bit overdone in S1: I am 2 days in the in the Great War, I have only 1 war... but my popularity is already down to 6% and all AI have me on Trade Embargo already...
The only reason I can think of is that I took Oldenburg. Hamburg is next on the menu and... Bytro is located in Hamburg. Scared that I will blast the offices with my artillery? Well, rightfully so after mutilating CoW :)))
-
S1 is more about managing popularity and morale than about tactics and logistics.
Popularity drops from 73 to 16 overnight, with NO wars.
Expansion penalties of -100, distance to capital -50, neighbors -45!
nearly impossible!
-
-
On this large map for 84 pp. I gave all bots the right to walk. From 55% of the starting value it increased to 75%. But one war and i have almost 1%. For me it's the most bugged thing in this game. Domino effect. 1-2 days and you have a war with 10 bots. With such a system, these maps will be practically unplayable, because even in the old supre and CoW, large maps are sometimes empty. And the scenarios also have the same reason. You can't play team games if half of the players become inactive.
-
@Oktan: Yes, with Elite AI it poses quite a challenge to know that you will be at war with the entire AI world regardless what you do.
Further, the game lacks tools to improve your reputation. In the old stand alone 'Making History', you could do a bunch of things to improve relations, like send gifts (goods or troops or provinces to the AI. I mentioned the old 'Making History; , bc this game and the other Bytro war games are much alike.
