My idea is to develop the newspaper to have more literary articles to reinforce the role-playing aspect of your game.
This can be done in several ways depending on the input available.
- Option 1: for the same input, have several possible answers
Example
a country occupies the capital of another country, we receive the following message
Name of unit] captures the capital of [defeated country], [name capital city of defeated country]. The morale of [defeated country] drops considerably as citizens celebrate in the streets of [name capital city of defeated country].
But one can also write
The morale of [defeated country] fell considerably, while the government of [name of defeated country] had to flee the city.
Or else
The morale of the [defeated country] is dropping considerably. The president of [name of the winning country + name of the player] said "it is a great day for our country".
- Option 2 - we complete the article with other known inputs for the battle
Input
- Winning country took capital defeated country
- 75 units lost dit the winning countries remains 25 in the capital city
- 50 units lost fort the deafeated country
- port destroyed. 50%.
- battle during two days
- a armoires car is lost in the battle
Result
Name of unit] captures the capital of [defeated country]. In [name capital city country defeated], the numerous troops of [country defeated] march through [name city country defeated] while the city mourns its dead, at least 100,000 soldiers were put out of action during the two days of battles.
Great black smoke rises from the port, the fighting was terrible. Soldiers from [name of one of the winning units taken at random] fought like lions to dislodge. According to the mayor of the city, at least half of the infrastructure is inoperable. Onthe road, a few residents look with curiosity at the burnt carcass of An armoires car from [name of the country that lost the machine gun]. Most of the civilians had fled the city during the fighting and are slowly beginning to return.
Other exemple
Input
- Winning country took capital defeated country
- 1 unit lost for the winning countries remains 4 in the capital city
- 1 units lost for the country defeated
Results
[Name of unit] captures the capital of [defeated country], [name capital city of defeated country]. The population is amazed to see the troops of [defeated country] marching through the main square of [name capital city of defeated country].
It must be said that the city was poorly defended and many of the soldiers of [defeated country] who were still guarding the city yesterday will fill the prison camp on the outskirts of the city.
We could develop these articles much more with elements related to each city (Trafalgar Square instead of the city's main square if we are talking about London / say that the prison camp is in the mountains around the city if we are talking about Madrid / etc.).
- Option 3 - complex item with dozens of inputs
One could very well spot patterns at the strategic level that are repeated several times and write about them.
Example
Input
Province X
- Day 0 Belongs to country A
- Day 15 conquered by country B
- Day 16 conquered by country A
- Day 20 conquered by country B
Result day 20
Name province X] will remain in the hands of [name country B].
The people of [Name province X] no longer know who is in charge. For several days [Country name A] and [Country name B] have been fighting a terrible war over who will control [Country name X].
- Option 4 of the economic items
An evolution of the market. A report that shows the evolution of prices day by day and the trend, up or down.
Input
Day 1: Average steel price is 4
Day 2: Average steel price is 5
Day 3: Average steel price is 10
Day 4: Average steel price is 6
Results
A volatile steel market with an upward trend
With a graph and the evolution of the buying and selling prices for the last few days.
We could add
- Articles testimonies of soldiers (I was constituted at such and such a place and I fought at such and such a place)
- Descriptions of battles following a unit (e.g. the fighting of a particular rail gun or battleship)
- Etc.
