The rant of an Old Player on Wolfpacking, but with a Twist.

  • So here we go, I am in a 100 player match with 7 people from the same alliance, and the map has a max coalition size of 5. Ok, all well and good except for the fact that they are all allied, working together, going as far as when one was about zero'd they gave him a territorry in the middle of thier stronghold so he could stay in the game. The rules on wolfpacking are quite clear, in that if you join with your friends in excess of the max coalition size, you need to play as if you are not allied. Also atleast one of the alliance memebers joined AFTER there was a heated blow up in the newspaper between an unaffiliated player and the alliance memeber. The new Alliance member joined directly next to the unaffiliated memeber and they promptly wiped him out, and since then has not been very active. Heres the twist. One of the alliance members when called out for this in the paper, made sure to announce to everyone that he was former staff and would have the match investigated. So a former staff memeber is accused of cheating, and said HE would have the match investigated. When called out in private chat between myself and an alliance member, he admitted that they were allied, but called it the Alliance Mechanic, and I should complain to Bytro..... Below are screenshots of all relevant information. Heres the thing, I did complain to Bytro, through Sgt. Steel, and through Email and have recieved no response, well after the "72 hour" period. It is coming across as it is perfectly ok for Former Staff to break the rules, but us regular folks cant. I started playing this game well before there was a mobile version, and this, I think after all these years is the moment I might have to walk away. The match is 9071151

  • Speaking more generally (not specifically about this incident since i don't know the details), maybe Bytro should consider revoking the 'moderator' and 'GO' badge under certain circumstances. Such as when the ex-volunteer has broken rule(s) of a sufficient severity, or when the ex-volunteer is using that badge to deceive/mislead players.

Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from magic to the uninitiated.

  • I agree, but I'm beginning to doubt anything will happen at this point to the "Ex-Staff" member or his wolf packing buddies as I reported it Wednesday, its Monday, and there's no response, just silence. (Edit: There was one Global Chat Mod that took the time to talk with me this morning, when I was asking questions, and promised to pass the information on) Heck even this has been up for over a day, and no one official has stepped forward with any news or an update.

  • Finnally got a response this morning, despite 7 of them joining together, and working together in violation of the posted rules, they are all still in the match together. I guess theres rules for regular players and special rules for former staff. As evidenced by somehow they cant send the "Confrimation Email" to my in game account for 5 days, or how regular players routinely get their accounnts deactivated for the same behavior. This is not a good look. If we are not all playing the same game, what is the point?

  • Yeah, I appealed it, pointing out that it seems the investigation was focused on the Newspaper articles, and didnt look at the fact that a far larger group joined the same match with the clear intent of working together, and supported by evidence than is the max coalition size that is the metric to determine wolf packing. They made outside alliance alies, and have turned on every single one to further their alliances conquest with the exception of one who they are quite friendly with in global chat. Still havnt gotten a response, appealed immediatley after getting that reply, wonder if I'll be waiting 5/6 days again....

  • there are no special rules for ex staff, members of the community or for staff. in saying that, break it down for me. a group of seven from an alliance have joined a match where only 5 can be in a coalition yes?
