    Attention, generals!

Today we bring a bunch of new features and a lot of bug fixes to Supremacy 1914. From now on the Elite AI will be available to all players for free, as this advanced version of the AI will replace the current AI in the game. This will add quite some action to new game rounds that are created after this release.

Now that you will fight against the elite AI, you might want to know about your standing with the AI more often to avoid unexpected attacks. We have got you covered, as you now find the global popularity indicator in your nation profile giving you exactly that information!

But we didn’t stop there! When your army is in combat, all you have to do is hover over the attack timer to get the latest combat information. Another helpful feature allows you to differentiate the attack range of ranged units when several of them are selected together. Just go to the army bar of the selected units and hover over them to highlight their attack range on the map.

Finally, in order to add another layer of realism to Supremacy 1914 and make the game experience more balanced and fair to all players we took a look at trading in the game. The result are several changes like the removal of unit trading or limitations to resource trading with players outside of one’s own team or coalition (see the list below for details).

There are more new things to discover and a good amount of bug fixes that we released today. Read through the complete list below:

    General:

    • We added a global popularity indicator to the player profile showing the current standing of the player with the AI.
    • We added a map border for a better look and feel.
    • Combat information is now also displayed when hovering over the attack timer.
    • The attack range of a ranged unit which is part of several selected units now gets highlighted on the map when hovering over the ranged unit in the army bar of a multi selection of units.
    • We added tooltips to the relation icons displayed in trade dialogs to make it easier to see which icon stands for which diplomatic trade.
    • When merging units with different fire mode settings, the merged stack will adopt the fire mode of the more powerful units.
    • Minimum price per unit on the stock market is set to 3.0 money
    • Maximum price per unit on the stock market is set to 30.0 money
    • Units cannot be traded anymore
    • Trading resources via diplomatic trading is limited to coalition and team members
    • After leaving a coalition players have to wait 3 days before they can join or create a new coalition
    • After being kicked from a coalition players have to wait 1 day before they can join or create a new coalition

    Bug fixes:

    • We resolved an issue which caused unit specific kill achievements like “panzer ace” not being updating correctly
    • We fixed an issue that caused a different unit being highlighted than the one hovered in the army bar.
    • We resolved an issue on mobile devices that prevented the arrival time of enemy and allied units to be displayed when selecting a moving unit on the map.
    • We resolved an issue that prevented land ranged units set to aggressive fire mode to open fire on other units within their attack range.
    • We resolved an issue where additional queue slots were displayed incorrectly on mobile and PC.

We hope you like these changes and bug fixes and wish you all the best on the battlefield.

Just to make this whole thing of an answer a bit more official...

Basically we allow players to raise any "bug related topic". So they don't have to wonder is this a bug or an exploit. Since we do not provide an official list of bugs and exploits, we cannot expect players to know whether this was reported already or is considered an exploit.

...in case the reported issue then indeed is classed as an exploit by us, Bytro will take action to fix it asap… otherwise it won't be considered an exploit

So, are we able to create a post explaining certain bugs like the combat system bug? I can't see why this wouldn't be allowed, but I sense this is quite a sensitive matter.

Well, in order to report bugs you need to be allowed to make that a topic on the forums. So yes, you are allowed to create a post to explain bugs on the forums.

    The fine line lies between:

    • Explaining a bug so we are made aware of it in order to fix it,
    • Explaining an advanced strategy (something in the game that is accepted, but is referred to as a bug by some players) to other players
    • And publicly explaining how to take advantage of an exploit (which is not allowed, as you can imagine).

    Attention, Generals!

We are very proud to announce Supremacy 1 - The Great War!

Supremacy 1 - The Great War will be available end of August 2019 and builds upon the success of Supremacy 1914. Players will find proven features from Supremacy 1914 as well as new innovative gameplay elements in a familiar World War I setting.

You might happen to have played a bit of Supremacy 1 - The Great War already without realizing it when you participated in our “Flanders Front” event in June 2019. “Flanders Front” will be one of the maps in Supremacy 1 - The Great War and gives a good impression of what the look and feel of the game will be.

With that said, please don’t panic!
Supremacy 1 - The Great War builds upon Supremacy 1914, but will not replace it.

Due to your amazing feedback that we received during the “Flanders Front” event, we know that many of you play Supremacy 1914 for various reasons and that Supremacy 1 - The Great War might not be the game for you. We want to stress that we will continue to support Supremacy 1914, as it is as dear to our hearts as it is to yours.

We will update you with more details about Supremacy 1 - The Great War as soon as we are ready to share them.

We hope you are as excited about the new Supremacy as we are and wish you best of luck on the battlefield.

    Attention Generals!

With today’s release we introduce an adjustment to the aggressive fire mode of units. When switching to the aggressive fire mode units will open fire on any unit in range. This includes units of neutral countries and is not limited to units from countries you are currently at war with. Obviously your own units and those of your allies will be spared. There are several strategic benefits to this change. You can now setup naval blockades or prepare for intruders preemptively for example. But be careful, once you open fire on a unit of a neutral country, it will trigger war with this nation.

As part of the adjustment we limited the aggressive fire mode to range units only. To counter this limitation all units will now block other units automatically when positioned somewhere.

    • Aggressive fire mode: Limited to range units. Units will bombard enemy and neutral units.
    • Fire at will (standard): Blocks and attacks close by neutral or enemy units, unless they have right of way.
    • Return fire /hold fire: Units pass each other without combat.

The aggressive fire mode can be activated in the fire control, which is available to members of the high command. Membership to the high command can be purchased in the shop.

We hope you can make good use of the aggressive fire mode and wish you best of luck on the battlefield!

    Attention Generals!

Today’s release brings some improvements and bug fixes for Supremacy 1914. From now on players on desktop will be able to check their newly implemented Front Reports. Front Reports inform you about everything that took place while you were away. If you want to know whether a building is finished, a unit was deployed or conquering a province was victorious, the Front Reports can provide you with an immediate answer.

Although Front Reports are pretty amazing already, we don’t stop there! We have also fixed some missing images and the building queue on iOS and Android.

For details see the complete list of changes below:

    General:

    • We added Front Reports to Supremacy 1914 on PC
    • The first auto-recruited Infantry will spawn 24 hours after a round started, not after 10 minutes already.

    Bug fixes:

    • We fixed an issue which caused the image in the newspaper articles about revolting provinces to be missing.
    • We fixed an issue that caused attack, defense and terrain symbols being black instead of white on iOS and Android.
    • We fixed an issue that caused the "Start diplomatic relations with other players" advisor task in the tutorial not having an image.
    • We fixed an issue for iOS and Android that caused an error message to appear on the screen when adding something to a full building queue.
    • We fixed an issue that prevented payments via sms for some countries.

We hope you like the changes and wish you best of luck on the battlefield.

    Your Bytro Team

So why do these events that take so much work? It seems like you are making a new game instead of fixing the one you already have. The only reason I can see to do this is to eventually change S1914 in to something similar.

We are constantly working on fixing as manny issues that are reported to us as possible. But at the same time the team is working to create new content for the players as well, to keep Supremacy active and have new stuff for you guys to do.

With that said, I am closing this AMA session. Thanks for all your questions and I hope the teams reply answered all or at least most of them. :)

I will not close this thread though, so feel free do discuss the teams answers. I will also keep an eye on it.

    hello

    1. I wanted to ask if we can create Flanders with SUpremacy units and Legacy graphic .I would be good to have comparision between bot approaches

There are resons why some people do not play COW- and bringing COW mechanic and units into supremacy puts me off that event.

As Flanders Front does not work with Legacy graphic, I am affraid that is not possible.

    2. Other thing is that map and graphic is completely unreadable to me that is why I am constantly flanked, surrounded- I am not able to follow roads and units movements. without huge effort on my side. can roads and units movement be visible and easy to read?

We got similar feedback. Often from players who switched off the relation view mode which was set to default a few weeks back. If you have problems to read the map, maybe switching the view mode helps.

Why is there a desert terrain in the stats if there's no desert in Flandes Front? :/:/

Yeah, why could that be.... hmmm.:/

    Maybe, there is something coming...

Do you think it'd be possible in the future to be able to convert units like if they were upgraded? e.g. Level 1 > Convert > Level 2 > Convert > Level 3

Never say never. We discussed this option within the team but haven't moved on with it as of yet. But it might be something we come back to in the future

Why are there no spies in this new gamemode?

Maybe they are just hiding... 8)

    Hello,

Well, I have a couple of questions:

This new event seems like a big change to the S1914 we all know and have played for many years. So is this the path you are intending to follow for Supremacy in the future? A gradual "Cowification"?

The team worked for quite a while on the Flanders Front event and the features you can experience in it. Although we are proud of the result we decided to have these as event exclusive features in Supremacy 1914 as it would change the game quite drastically and we do not want to take anything away from the game. You might see other new events like Flanders Front, but it is highly unlikely that Supremacy 1914 as a whole moves in that direction.

Also, there is no legacy mode for it for whatever reasons, so is this the beginning of the end of the legacy mode?

The legacy mode is already available to veterans only. New players do not have the option to switch to legacy any more.

Okay guys, no heat wave will stop us today. So if you have questions for our game designers regarding the new event Flanders Front... fell free to post them here today! :)

    Flanders Front AMA

On June 25th the new event Flanders Front will have run for about a week and we expect a lot of questions from you guys and we want to answer them. We planed to have an AMA today to answer all of these questions, but due to extremly hot weather in Germany management decided to open our cages and let us go home early today. So we will have to postpone the AMA to June 26th 2019 instead. However, that shouldn't keep you to bombard us with your questions here. We will answer as many questions as we can tomorrow. Just post your question in this thread and we will reply to it.

    Attention Generals!

Today’s release includes a number of bug fixes for the new event Flanders Front as well as for Supremacy 1914 in general. We fix some incorrectly displayed army labels, make unknown armies selectable again and we improve the the gas cloud of the gas artillery in Flanders Front to indicate the area of effect.

For details see the complete list of changes below:

    Bug fixes:

    • We resolved an issue that led to army labels being displayed incorrectly for certain unit stacks.
    • We resolved an issue that led to unknown armies being unselectable near the fog of war border.
    • We resolved an issue that caused the diplomacy trade window to be cut off on some mobile devices.
    • We resolved an issue that listed High Command features in a pop up on mobile without marking desktop exclusive features.
    • Flanders Field event: We added a green circle to display the area of effect of gas cloud damage.
    • Flanders Field event: Victory points of provinces are now displayed directly on the map.

We hope you like the changes and wish you best of luck on the battlefield.
