At this moment you can retarget your planes so that means activity can fight activity

Then why were my airplanes sometimes heading back to refuel when I attempted to retarget? I don't understand, please explain the mechanic in more detail.

the targets need to be approx 4mins from eachother before you can retarget probably due to that

Just increase production cost of planes. They really are not that easy to shoot down btw they are mostly just canvas you have to hit the engine or pilot. the splitting thing is uber cheesy. I am a pilot. Hmmm lookie there, there is a small group of soldiers and 3 kilometers away are 10 times that many...hmmm who to attack. Obviously the bigger guy. Rush to build planes? Why sure, get the factory advanced enough, have resources enough and knock yourself out. That is how war works. The opponents race to have the biggest and best possible forces. like I said, increase resource cost. Of course folks will use gold, they will anyway. there is a reason battleships ruled the waves in this era and planes were scary as hell.

Been thinking, I do like the retargeting, but the 4 minute restriction on reflection is not a bad thing. Large groups of troops, seeing advancing air power are not going to just sit in the open waiting to be attacked, they are going to maneuver, they are going to seek cover, so my initial thought about disliking the splitting tactic, I think, best reflects reality to the extent that a game like this can.

so much for retargeting. I was sitting. watching as soon as the split happened I retargeted and returned to the explitive deleted base since people can't handle plain language. I watched the split happen. as soon as it did within seconds I retargetted

I still say splitting as a mechanic is ridiculous. I get it may be a technical limitation, but I think we might as well play without planes if that's the case. Historically, air superiority was more useful in mapping trenches and spotting for artillery than they were in directly engaging enemy units anyway. In that sense, it is ridiculous to think players can build stacks of hundreds of bombers and obliterate armies and cities as is possible in his game.

However, having powerless air units isn't fun in the context of the arcade experience this game promotes. That same player could easily counter that bomber force with a fighter force of their own. Even if you can't do that, Balloons are dirt cheap, have decent AA stats, and lots can be quickly built and stacked to escort those all-important armies to their targets. I fail to see the issue. If you're having trouble against planes, then build the counters, just like every other unit.

The defense of stack splitting to completely nullify a player's investment into their military is an opinion held primarily by those players who are active, know about it, and take advantage of it.

It shouldn't be possible to entirely negate an enemy's military at 0 cost of your own.

Whether the cost of defending is paid in fighters, a new AA unit, or by just letting them bomb you and taking the losses, there should always be a cost involved in dealing with enemy units (some ways being obviously more efficient than others), and there should be a notable cost in dealing with a significant investment of the enemy, not a 0 cost option that active players can use.

If there is an issue with the strength of the bomber relative to its counters, then perhaps a resource cost increase, a buff to fighters, or a nerf to the stats of the bomber would be a good option.

Is retargeting still working? I've tried it in the current speed round within 10 seconds of the split and my bombers return to base.

It should be However server delay can mess things up
